Bannister Federal Complex Disposition EIS
Awarded: January 2011
Under the DOE-wide NEPA contracting mechanism, Jason and its partners were contracted to prepare an EIS for the Disposition of the Bannister Federal Complex at the Kansas City Plant (KCP). The EIS is being prepared for the DOE National Nuclear Security Administration’s, Kansas City Site Office, with the General Services Administration (GSA) as a cooperating agency.
At present, the KCP occupies a large 1940s vintage industrial facility made up of 35 buildings or other structures in Kansas City, Missouri, located on a site contiguous with GSA facilities, the sum of which is known as the Bannister Federal Complex. The EIS will analyze the potential environmental impacts of dispositioning the Complex.
Commercial Light Water Reactor Production of Tritium Supplemental EIS
Awarded: April 2011
Under the DOE-wide NEPA contracting mechanism, Jason and its partners were contracted to prepare a Supplemental EIS for the production of tritium in a commercial light water reactor (CLWR) at reactors owned and operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority. The original CLWR EIS evaluated the incremental radiological impact resulting from operation with up to 3,400 tritium-producing burnable absorber rods (TPBARs) per reactor unit compared to normal operation without TPBARs inserted into the reactor cores. The Supplemental EIS will evaluate potential radiological impacts of a tritium permeation rate 3 to 4 times higher for a smaller number of TPBARS per reactor.
EIS for the Acquisition of Natural Gas Utility Service, Hanford Site, Richland, Washington
Awarded: September 2011
Under the DOE-wide NEPA contracting mechanism, Jason and its partners were contracted to prepare an EIS for acquisition and installation of a natural gas line from a regional supplier to the Hanford Site in Washington state. The 29-mile pipeline would run between a new interconnect tap on the east side of the Columbia River and the Waste Treatment Plant and 242-A Evaporator facilities on the west side of the River.
Supplement Analysis for the Five-Year Evaluation of the Final Environmental Impact Statement for the Continued Operation of the Pantex Plant and Associated Storage of Nuclear Weapon Components
Awarded: October 2011
Jason was contracted to prepare a Supplement Analysis (SA) of the EIS for continued operation of the Pantex Plant in Texas. The SA will evaluate the adequacy of the existing 1996 SWEIS so DOE can determine whether it should prepare a new site-wide EIS, supplement the existing EIS, or take no action. |
